Eatin’ 20 scones
So yesterday I got a bit of wonderful info off a client
He was back home to Mammy (He’s a fully grown man) and Mammy made some freshly baked scones
Like red to a bull he couldn’t say no
He horsed into them and couldn’t stop – he was honest in saying he reckons he had around 20
What you reckon my reaction was?
I laughed and got on with training him
^ pretty different reaction from most trainers
Now I could have gone all lieutenant on him and flogged him, gave out and called him a failure at his diet but what good would that do?
He’d have been in a shit mood and would have probably had an even shitter session
We instead brushed it off, called it a blip in a long road ahead and had a killer session
This dude has come so far already but has struggled with food throughout his life. He’s battled hard tho and has already lost 15kg and got strong as hell
He made a BIG decision to come to me and that took courage. You know yourself it’s hard to take that step forward
So instead of giving out to him about one day of scone madness (or heaven), I am going to instead applaud this guy for having the guts to tell me straight out
It shows he trusts me and is willing to share his struggle and battles with me
If i decided to give out then we would lose our bond
And who am I to give out to him? I’m not his Mammy 😉
Anyways I had a mad weekend myself drinking like a fish in Roscrea (but that’s another story for another day)
So words of wisdom amigo
If you have a ‘bad’ day in the food world there’s no need to beat yourself up about it. And there’s def no reason for another person to give out to you about. Just get back to it like my client did
