Let me take a selfie
So I’m here standing in front of mirror in a pair of jocks 3 weeks before my wedding
Taking selfies and posing from every single angle
And I’m not noticing a single difference
I’ve worked my sweet lil tush off for the last few weeks
Zoning in on my diet, tracking my food, tracking my macros
I even did cardio once
Yet I notice no difference
I’m down in weight
I’m down in bodyfat
I can see abs and new veins
Yet when I take a progress pic I see no difference
Christ this fitness lark is frustrating
Now I’ve a decision to make
Break out with a tub of ice cream and blame genetics and stress
Or keep going knowing I’m gonna be the shape I want to be in come the big day
See confidence plays a big part in your own body success
If you’re too tough on yourself then you’re never gonna be happy
That’ll lead to binge fests, regrets and extra stress
^ not a good life to lead
Same goes with unrealistic diets
Juice diets, zero carbs, paleo
All that stuff sets you up for long term disaster
So here’s a simple plan to SOLVE it
- find a realistic diet that you can follow long term, not short term
- INVEST in an excellent trainer, not the cheapest you can find
- educate yourself on nutrition, read books, articles and follow great trainers (hint hint me me)
- set small realistic goals that you can keep real track of. Lose a kilo in a couple of weeks, stuff like that. That’ll lead to long term success
- reward yourself positively. Don’t think so much a pizza – that shouldn’t be a reward, that should be worked into your diet – ladies think a new dress, lads a hot towel shave. Something simple that’ll make you feel good
- look at yourself a little more positively (one I should learn). Stop beating yourself up. You’re making headway. Keep going
Follow the above, one step at a time, and I guarantee you’ll make some serious gains in the confidence department a.k.a you will be a hell of a lot happier
