That feeling when you just don’t wanna get up
You feel like crap and the last thing you want to do is go the gym
A obvious trainer reaction would be to tell you to move your ass and get on with
‘Push yourself’
‘Pain is just weakness leaving the body’
‘The only bad workout is the one you didn’t do’
Blah blah blah
The last thing you want to hear
See I’m now taking a different approach
If you’re a regular gym goer and you’re simply not feeling it…
Then DON’T train
Rest, recover and maybe go for a nice quiet walk instead
Chill
If you’re feeling 50/50 then go thru the motions of your workout
Not too easy but not full blast either
^ Something that you’ll feel at the end of it
But something that won’t kill ya either
And finally if you feel an extra pep in your step
Then absolutely blast your workout
Why am I telling you this?
Coz training is all about management
I trust my clients to get their sleep and nutrition on point (I’ve thought them enough)
But if something goes sideways and they are not feeling it then it’s no point
Sure if they’re hungover I’ll make them sweat (a lot)
But I’m not gonna max their deadlift and let them wreck their selves
^ There’s no long term gain from that
Now on the flipside if you’re only pottering around the gym once or twice and going thru the motions then you’d want to re-evaluate your whole ‘plan’
